My Students

I teach in a STEM/Makerspace program in a rural community. We are a Title I school. A large percentage of students get free or reduced-price lunches. My students are very enthusiastic about learning in STEM. I want to give them opportunities to further develop their skills in science, technology, engineering, and math.

My students durable, STEM materials that will allow them to explore STEM concepts.

They need to see themselves as inventors, creators, and problem-solvers. They need to be able to solve real-life problems and create things that only they can conceptualize.

My Project

We need age-appropriate robots that my early elementary students can learn to code. Coding is a necessary skill for their future. Having robots that are durable and easy to code will help them learn the necessary skills.

They need robots that can be stand up to repeated use by early elementary students.

The Sphero Indi Robots meet these criteria. They come with accessories that will allow the youngest students to get a good start with coding. The Indi Robot is perfect for the youngest students in my STEM and Tinkering Lab. Their durability will give students years of use.
