My Students

I have a dynamic group of students who have a love of learning. My students represent a diverse population who don't have the opportunity to buy books for themselves. Many live below poverty level, but that doesn't get in their way of being successful students!

As eighth graders, my students are working hard to get ready to transition into High School.

I want to make this big leap feel less intimidating by doing some preparation work this spring. This year we are focusing on classic essential literature. Your generosity will kick our reading into high gear, and change lives. Thank you for your help!

My Project

These books will make a tremendous difference for my students. We will use the text as a stepping stone into the incredible classics. What better way to get students ready for high school than reading this timeless story of friendship?

When you familiarize yourself with the classics, you start to understand where a lot of other books fit in.

You’ll begin to identify influences and references in your reading that you weren’t able to before, or didn’t even notice.

When you read the classics, you're reading books that have had a pivotal role in shaping the way we read and write today. Books aren't written or read in a vacuum. They're woven by writers and consumed by readers with the influence of centuries behind us.
