My Students

It's been a very interesting year for my group of students! With half of them at school in person, and the other half reporting virtually, they have been able to adapt to their current normal without any interruptions. With two months of being back to school in person, it's hard to believe that it's almost the end of the school year.

We were unable to have the entire school year in person together, but we fully plan on making the best of our last two months!

Located in Washington, DC in an area full of external resources, we are already looking forward to our upcoming nature and community walks.

My Project

We are almost to the finish line of a very interesting school year! Students have worked hard to navigate through the process of distance learning and some have even returned to learn in person. With all of the back and forth, it's time for a bit of routine and fun, even though we are weeks away from the end of the school year.

My students have become quite the designers and the Cricut Air is the perfect resource to explore their passion!

With some students graduating in June, we can make t-shirts to celebrate! Fortunately, it doesn't stop there. For my students, they can create mugs, make stickers, create labels, and more. As their teacher, I will be able to craft items to be used for the remainder of this school year and the following years after. The opportunities are endless with the Cricut Air because I can also create reading and math activities for students.

The Butterfly Set will expose students to the life cycle of a butterfly in an engaging way. Through this kit, students will be able to witness the transformation of a caterpillar to a butterfly in a matter of weeks. I've done this activity with classes before, and it is always a hit. I'm sure my students will have a good time learning and observing this entire process.

The most important resource in this project will be the fans! We are located in a building that has yet to be renovated and at times, it can become warm. When this happens, students can experience fatigue which can lead to loss of learning. With the fans, we can level out of classroom temperature, which is very helpful on days when the sun is shining outside.

Our odds and ends project could really use your help!
