My Project

I cannot wait to meet my new amazing group of fifth graders! These students come from a variety of backgrounds. Some are English Language Learners, and others have disabilities, are gifted, or are students who live in poverty. All of these children learn in different ways and set their troubles aside. They come to school daily to get the proper education they deserve.

How can I make sure these children feel welcomed and eager to come to school every day?

Here's how! Every summer I spend hundreds of dollars to buy new items for my classroom. These are not the typical items most people think about when thinking about school supplies. Year after year it's harder to spend more and more money out of pocket to create the best environment for my students.

Providing my students with flexible seating is important to me because it provides a way for students to feel physically comfortable in the classroom. When students are physically comfortable, it allows them to focus on the task at hand and active learning can take place.

My students are going to be using flexible seating as a tool to help regulate their bodies. Also, I am wanting to redo our reading area in our classroom and my students will need a rug for seating. Currently, I have a floor seating but not a rug and the floor is getting scratched from the chairs. This rug will allow my students a place to sit without having to use a seat. Please help us by providing some of the necessities we need in our classroom. Your support will greatly be appreciated.
