This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As an Occupational Therapist at an elementary schools (grades K-5th), I support students so that they are able to access the curriculum and succeed within the classroom. I work with children with various disabilities, including autism, learning disabilities, and ADHD. I work with students who have sensory, fine motor and/or visual motor challenges.

Our school is a Title I school in an urban area that is economically struggling.

Remote learning was a huge adjustment for everyone. My students continued to show up to our virtual sessions, excited to see their friends, and engaged in the activity to the best of their ability.

My Project

I am asking for supplies for my special education students to use both in school and at home during remote occupational therapy sessions.

My children require these supplies (i.e., notebooks, crayons, glue, theraputty, etc.) to improve their strength and fine-motor skills.

This year, students who receive therapy in person will require individual supplies for safety and health concerns. For those students receiving remote therapy, this will ensure that they have the same supplies as their peers.

Please help me provide my students with basic therapy tools for a successful learning year.
