My Project

As an Occupational Therapist, I work on executive functioning, fine motor skills, and sensory regulation. I am writing to request your support in funding fine, visual, and sensory-motor items for my middle school scholars. I use my student's preferred interests to help them learn and master skills has been rewarding for me and my students. I love to use project based learning to help with planning, organization, following directions, time management, bilateral coordination and fine motor skills. LEGO sets and puzzle are used to target visual motor skills, fine motor skills and are also used in self regulation tasks. The trampoline, yoga balls and peanut balls are all important in sensory integration and the student will be regulate their systems in order to participate in their functional school activities. The bean bags offer alternate seating options and they allow for individualized support based on a client's specific needs, promoting better posture, movement, sensory integration, and overall comfort, which can significantly enhance their ability to participate in daily activities and improve their functional performance.

Sensory based interventions involves engaging students in activities that stimulate their senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, proprioceptive, vestibular and interoceptive.

These tools will be used to help students develop essential motor skills and self-regulation abilities, which are critical for their success in the classroom.

Sensory integration is particularly helpful for students with special needs. These tools will transform learning by addressing the sensory needs of my students, many of whom thrive with movement-based interventions. Your support will create a more inclusive and engaging environment, allowing these resilient and determined learners to overcome obstacles and succeed academically.
