Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Variety of backgrounds, ethnicity, and socioeconomically diverse sections. They are passionate about Video Games and Technology and we continue to learn and collaborate in these settings for the education of the development process. We are learning Unity 3D and C# computer code to showcase this. The magnet program in which we are part of has connections with Full Sail University, one of the best schools for Game Design, Animation, or anything in the Media Field. We are a Title 1 School with funding from the state of Florida, so we don't get much for funds that doesn't come from our own fundraising or parent association.

My Project

The students will be able to test their own characters and game mechanics from Unity and Unreal Engine. There are VR/AR plugins that allow us to take the characters made in Zbrush and Blender, and make them come alive through VR via the Occulus Quest 2. We hope to attract students to the magnet as well as demonstrate the importance of this career field. These kids have so many opportunities here that they don't have anywhere else. They literally have the opportunity to make a world that they created come to life!
