My Project

Bringing the wonder back into science! I am incorporating phenomenon-based instructional strategies in my 9th grade Environmental Science classroom. This type of learning allows students to develop more critical thinking skills by connecting their classroom learning to tangible, real world issues and observable events. I am planning a course about Observations In Nature which will also benefit from these supplies increasing student use to almost 200 kids! Demonstration kits like the composting and binoculars will help my students who live in an urban setting understand and observe more natural phenomenon that they do not usually have access to. Journals and art supplies will allow for recording observations and teaching curiosity about observable phenomenon. Thank you for considering my project and funding bring curiosity and wonder into the high school classroom.
