My Students

My students are high-functioning middle school students with autism, as well as students with a multitude of other learning disabilities within the New York City public school system. This year we are having our first ever NEST class. We are looking for funding for basic classroom supplies including but not limited to art supplies for hands-on crafts and acitivities such as drawing, and painting, computer paper, construction paper, crayons and markers, highlighters, pens and pencils, sharpeners, notebooks, folders, and manipulatives to overall enhance the student's learning experience in ways best suitable for each individual student in the classroom. Many students do not come to school with the mere basics, therefore the more school supplies we as educators and a community can provide, the better prepared students are to succeed both in and out of the classroom. We are seeking support from DonorsChoose to provide necessary supplies to improve the student's experience!

My Project

This upcoming school year I am hoping to provide all of the basic class room supplies. This would include worksheets for their curriculum study. Also arts and crafts materials such as construction paper, glue, tape, and markers. The students also need computer paper for all of their copies and differentiated lesson activities. As well as pens and pencils, highlighters, and an electric pencil sharpener. Ensuring these basic items would help to provide at least the bare minimum these students need day in and day out for class. I hope to be able to provide the students with these materials with your help!
