There is a true purpose of "Bringing The Arts" back into our classrooms. I teach in a title one school with a diverse population of students with free lunch. The students in my school are talented in many ways, yet have a hard time with expressing themselves.

There is a lot of stress in my students with dealing with their studies in all subjects, as well as their home life situations. Being said, we've decided to bring a new program to our schools called the "Blueprint Of Visual Arts." It is aligned with the standards and it's purpose is to incorporate the arts back into the students curriculum. Art history will be explored, as well as cultures, and in turn will blend in with history, math, social studies as well as reading comprehension. I will be the art teacher throughout the school helping to bring out the anxiety, intense moods, frustrations and have my students apply it to their art. It's a great way for the students to express what they feel and release it into works of art.

I want to have an art library from Blick Art Supplies, and a male and female model figure, to help start up this program. We are starting with no supplies, and I feel this will be the perfect beginning of the program to help inspire the students. We need a male and female model figure for my students to visualize how a human being moves, as they draw it. Special education needs to be able to see, hear and touch art, and to read about it and be inspired. I want all students in the school to be able to reach for a book about a famous artist on all different levels. If we had this art library available, it would be a great outlet for my diverse readers. Students will need to do informational reports, and what better way to do it when interested in a subject that matters to them.

You will make it possible for my students to gain knowledge in the arts, and to apply it to all subjects by helping us attain an art library from Blick Art Materials and a male and female model figure. This will be the beginning of a program that will be a huge success in my school. Your help will make a tremendous difference. Let's bring the "Arts Back Into Our Classroom."
