My Students

School has always been a safe haven for my students, but now, we have been displaced. Many of my kids consider it home, since they spend most of their waking hours there. While they are with me, I try to meet as many of their needs as I possibly could, often time in the form of snacks; for school hours, for the evenings, for the weekends, or to take home and share with their siblings. Many of my students come from food insecure homes, and often do not have access to nutritious food. COVID-19 has multiplied this problem.

My Project

Many of my students come from impoverished homes, where nutritious meals are scarce. They depend on the school to provide them with sustenance for the day. Now that our school buildings are closed, we have all turned to distance learning to meet the academic needs of our students. However, many children will go to bed with empty bellies. I need your help to provide my students with some relief. With the items from this project, I will prepare meal packages for some of my neediest students. I will recruit the help of my peers and my family to make drop-offs at the students' homes.
