Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students have been learning about social and emotional learning, as well as the importance of nutrition in helping them learn better.

They will learn about food deserts, create posters, and map their neighborhoods to identify places where they can purchase healthy food.

Additionally, students will gain an understanding of the various supermarket offerings around their urban NYC neighborhood and learn how to make healthy food choices.

The use of a document camera will assist the teacher in demonstrating different ways to create posters and what information should be included.
