My Project

I have just begun teaching in a 3rd grade classroom in an inner city school--and I would love to get them the materials they need to be successful.

My classroom does not currently have a leveled library, and many of my current third graders are not yet reading at grade level--I am hoping our partnership might change that!

These books will continue to enhance and nurture the love of reading that I would love to share with my students. My 3rd grade students have set goals to: become better readers, read chapter books, and to read everyday!

Every student book that is placed in my library will be treated with love and care, and they will enable students to access texts at their independent reading level. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time. With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level with their voice and choice being honored! My goal is to increase their access to books--therefore increasing the amount of time they spend reading. This project will undoubtedly help foster my students' love of reading.
