My Students

My students live in lower socioeconomic neighborhoods that require support with basic care items. One of the biggest challenges my students live with is the lack of personal care items like body washes, lotions, sprays, chap sticks, dental items, and deodorants. I work at a school with students that require back sacks on the weekends, free breakfast, and free lunches and struggle financially to provide these items on their own.

The personal care items will help my students have basic essentials to ease their daily anxieties and worries.

Everyone should have access to basic essentials needs. A large percentage of our students live in multi-family member homes, foster homes, other family members and friends' homes, and hotels/motels. These students and families may not have the financial freedoms to provide basic essential care items.

Having a surplus of these items can change student's confidence, emotional well-being, and provide a positive atmosphere when they are at school. It is our job as educators to ensure that all students have everything they require to make sure they are receiving the best education possible. Breaking down these barriers will help students focus on their academic success.

My Project

Many of our students live in low socioeconomic neighborhoods and need our help with basic care items. The students live in multi-family member homes, foster homes, and motels/hotels. This project will provide our students with not only their most basic needs, but emotional well-being, positive atmosphere, confidence, and success.

My students should have access to dental care items, deodorant, and shower care items to make sure that they have a chance at being successful in the classroom and promote a positive learning environment.

These personal care items will help inner-city students stay clean and increase their self-image. Everybody should have the opportunity to have their basic needs met. We, as community members, have a responsibility to make sure that our youth has their basic care need met.

These items will be kept in a discrete location and available to the students that are needing their basic care needs met by coming to this room to obtain what they individually need. Every item in this project will be used to help students with individual care needs to have access to personal care items that they may not have at home.
