My Project

This year has had some of the most amazing astronomy events and a total solar eclipse is coming. This is the one chance we have to see it and participate in this experience forever. We want to make a working model of how a solar eclipse works and then use our models to explain it to others. My students want to learn about science by doing science, not just reading about it. I don't blame them for that, I am the same way! They want to see for themselves what it is like to experience night life in the middle of the daytime and to realize that this is a wonderful, rare, and historic moment in time.

Students cannot create without something to build their artistic abilities on.

We want to make models that we can use to help explain about the total solar eclipse and share these ideas with our families and our peers.

My students are special to me because they truly want to discover the world around them, and I want to help them find it! With so much happening in their lives during these times, it is a joy to find something that can help them find the thrill of discovery, a change on the way things are viewed, and maybe even a career idea!

These craft materials may be simple, but they are key to making something that will help them remember and understand.
