My Students
In the classroom, I often hear "I can't see". Whether it's while we're reading, doing science or manipulating math materials. It's quite difficult showing 32 students what to do at the same time when most of the objects and materials in my classroom are small in size.
Our school is a public school in Philadelphia with students from various ethnicities and socioeconomic classes.
My first-grade class consists of 32 students. Of the 32, half are English language learners (ELL) who are identified at the lower socioeconomic level. Many of the parents are immigrants and encourage their children to do well in school.
My Project
The Learning Resources Luna Interactive Projection Camera will help my students see the science materials, math manipulatives and reading materials easily through our Promethean screen. They will learn how to handle materials carefully and will also be able to follow along while the teacher is demonstrating how something is to be done.
With your generous donation, my students will finally be able to follow along while I'm demonstrating how to manipulate math materials and they will also learn how to observe science specimens correctly.
Furthermore, I will no longer have to to waste time scanning all my books which will free my time up to do more essential tasks in the classroom.
