My Students

"Now I know my ABC's" is something some students walk into my classroom saying, while others need a great deal of basic reading instruction.

The Kindergarten students in my classroom attend a Title I school in Virginia.

I meet some of my students as beginning readers and writers, while others in my classroom have had little access to literature. I need materials that I can easily differentiate to meet the needs of all my young learners.

My Project

While my students love working together and do so easily, they can be very competitive when showcasing new skills. I will use the magic boards and dry erase response boards during quick "review races," which my students look forward to. Phonics and ABC stamps, puzzles, and magnetic letters will be used in reading centers where students work together to practice at their instructional levels. Some students will be learning the ABC's, and others will be constructing creative sentences.

This is my second year teaching Kindergarten.

Donations to my classroom will be used this year and hopefully for many, many years to come. Please help my students start their school lives off with a strong foundation of skills and knowledge, and a love for reading and writing.
