Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a middle school educator, my students come from a variety of backgrounds and reading levels. Many of them are English language learners or students who struggle with reading comprehension and engagement. In order to foster a love for reading and support their academic growth, it's essential that we have access to high-interest novels that appeal to their diverse interests and reading levels. These novels will serve as tools for building literacy, enhancing vocabulary, and encouraging meaningful discussions in the classroom.

Our classroom is in need of a diverse set of middle school novels to inspire and challenge my students.

These novels will provide opportunities for them to develop critical thinking skills, practice close reading, and explore rich, varied narratives. Some students may be new to reading for pleasure, so it's important to offer books that are engaging, relatable, and representative of different cultures and experiences.
