Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are passionate, lively and dedicated to their own education. They are in a special education or Inclusion setting. They love to read and we do not have the book selection that appeals to them. We want more books that they will want to read, instead of what they have to read. They deserve new books. Our students do not have the reading resources at home that they need to succeed. This provides them with rich literature to read.

My Project

These books will provide the desire for our students to want to read. They enjoy the mystery and fantasy genres. James Patterson seems to be the author that grabs their attention. The difference in our independent reading periods has become so silent you can hear a pin drop since they have been reading this genre.

Our students do not have the opportunities to read books they love because of the high demand of curriculum.

With these books, they can read what they are interested in. They were given a couple of these books from my personal library and they fell in love. They can't get enough of it and are begging for more.
