Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Think of a time when your entire class knew all the tea of the text you were reading in class. The times you were able to get lost in the book, mark the pages with confidence and make connections to everyday life. These are all the things I remember and came to love about novel studies as a student. This is the vibe I’m trying to bring back into the classroom in this heavy digital age.

My goal with this project is to create an environment that allows students to fall in Love with reading again, while also continuing to cultivate a collaborative environment where students feel confident to connect with one other about the text.

All the items requested will allow students to navigate a collaborative novel study to finish the school year. The bookmarks will allow students to mark their evidence and help aide in their independent reading. The post it pads and markers will allow student to synthesize and document discoveries during the work session and the floor cushions will allow student to have cozy seating for reading and easy movement for group collaborations.
