My Project

As a Learning Support teacher at a Title I school, addressing mental health includes adequate nutrition and access to food throughout the day. Students will learn how nourishment impacts their mental wellness, focus, energy levels, and concentration.

Help me support the mental health of my students through access to healthy snacks.

By providing healthy snacks, students will be able to access food in a confidential space and reduce hunger, increase focus, help with mood regulation, and improve classroom success. A healthy space means the nutritional needs of students are met in addition to their social-emotional and academic needs. Access to healthy snacks will improve the overall educational experience of my students and have a positive impact on their mental health and classroom functioning.

Ms. Fernandez Constitution High School Grades 9-12
