My Project

In Arleta, California, my classroom is home to a group of extraordinary students who are not only dedicated to their studies but also excel on the athletic field. These students are the embodiment of resilience and determination, juggling academic commitments with their passion for sports. As their coach and teacher, I've witnessed their remarkable work ethic and relentless pursuit of excellence. However, despite their unwavering dedication, our community faces a harsh reality - food insecurity.

Food insecurity is a pervasive issue in our community, casting a shadow over the bright futures of our incredible students, especially the student-athletes.

After exhausting hours of practice, many return home to empty fridges, lacking the nourishment necessary for recovery and sustained energy. This scarcity of nutritious food directly affects their academic performance and athletic potential. It's a challenge that these students should not have to face, given their remarkable talents and tenacity.

Every food item on your list represents more than sustenance; it signifies a lifeline for these exceptional individuals. Proper nutrition will not only replenish their bodies but also empower their determination to thrive. A well-fed student is a productive one, and the impact of this support will resonate across all aspects of their lives.

Our goal is simple yet profound: to provide an extra meal a day to these students. For our school, where immense talent coexists with significant struggles, this additional sustenance will make a monumental difference.
