Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I would like to purchase snacks for my students because I work in a low-income neighborhood where many of them come to school with empty stomachs. It breaks my heart when they share stories about being hungry, often asking if they can have a snack or feeling embarrassed when their stomachs growl during class. I want to ensure that each student leaves my classroom not only with knowledge but also with a little something to take home—a snack or treat that reminds them they are cared for and valued. Providing these snacks would not only nourish their bodies but also uplift their spirits, showing them that they are supported and loved. No child should have to worry about hunger, and I believe that a small act of kindness can make a big difference in their day.
