My Students
My students are resilient, kind, young adults at a Title I school. Many of them struggled immensely last year during distance learning due to the pandemic. The struggle continues this year as we try to build back some of the academic stamina and social-emotional skills that students need to feel confident, safe, and supported at school.
Our students have been out of the practice of reading for pleasure for some time, and it is crucial to provide them with reading opportunities that excite them and reflect their varied interests and backgrounds.
My Project
We've worked hard to build our classroom library this year, but there are still some titles that my students are craving that we have yet to procure. It is my hope that providing my students with more independent reading choices and new, exciting young adult titles will rekindle the joy to be found in reading.
These titles are highly sought after and come highly recommended as being riveting, relevant, and respected titles for teenage readers of varying abilities; these are just the novels that will put the icing on the cake of a contemporary and diverse classroom library.
I can't wait to share these books with my avid readers who are looking for new titles to add to their lists as well as my reluctant readers who are still searching for the kinds of books that will turn them into lifelong bookworms.
