Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work with a group of dedicated, hard-working, eager-to-learn 8th graders from low-income backgrounds, many of whom come from single-parent homes, while some live with grandparents and/or relatives and many leave in various shelters around the school. Throughout the year I teach them to believe in themselves, to work hard, to embrace their cultural heritage while treasuring and appreciating what this country is offering to them, and to always give back to others whenever possible. Majority of my students are relatively new to our country and learning the language and how to live in a new country.

It would mean the world to me to be able to help the families in my neighborhood acquire the basic supplies, such as these notebooks, necessary for success.

A little bit will go a long way so any and all donations are much appreciated in more ways than you can imagine.
