My Students

Do you know how to take notes and study? My students are still trying to learn this concept. Using interactive science notebooks is a great way to organize materials covered and thoughts about topics.

I have a fabulous class of 25 fourth graders in Georgia.

We are a group 50% boys, 50% girls. We are a mixture of all different races, nationalities, and abilities. A large percentage of my students qualify for free/reduced lunch. They are an eclectic mix of students, but they blend well together in the classroom to make each day exciting and interesting.

My Project

Interactive science notebooking is a skill that will benefit my students from elementary school through high school. It is a great way to learn how to organize materials given. It is also a place to record thoughts about daily science topics. Notebooks can show the growth of the student as their year progresses. Interactive notebooks can be a resource that students can use years from now.

Interactive science notebooks will help improve students' organizational skills, which will in turn, increase their success as a responsible twenty first century learner.

It helps give students ownership of their education. This makes learning more important to the child. Requesting the book binding system and classroom laminating machine (to create durable covers/backs) will enable me to create interactive science notebooks year after year.
