My Students

As we embark on a new school year, this one is incredibly different than any other. With whether we are going back in person or staying virtual, my incoming scholars will need resources and supplies to help instruction and learning take place, regardless of location. The scholars I serve are from low-income families. Often times my scholars have seen and dealt with traumas. Our school community is working hard to build relationships between school-home-businesses to work together to educate and grow our scholars.

Knowing this group of scholars from seeing them at school every day last year, this group of scholars are eager and thrive when they have the resources available to them.

I already know this group of scholars will be the most special group of kids I have taught in my career. Building a family community and a safe place will be crucial. We will embark on this school year together.

My Project

The materials in this project are targeted towards ensuring scholars have the materials necessary during virtual learning, as well as once we are back in the brick and mortar building. When planning lessons, these materials will support the learning process. Scholars will be able to show their thinking and learning in multiple ways. Traditionally, my scholars are able to earn prizes in the traditional classroom. With this project, I'll be able to continue that prize box by having scholar-desired prizes that they can earn, and sent by mail to them. Scholars can earn prizes for participation, exceptional effort, and during learning games that review and reinforce skills. For my scholars, we are virtual for the foreseeable future this school year. It is important to keep a sense of normalcy to the traditional classroom setting and the routines of learning we would have.
