Help me give my students books to support their emotional learning due to effects of COVID-19.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Morvitz's classroom raised $197

My Students
As a speech therapist working with students in grades Pre-K-5, I see children through many stages! In just one day, I can go from a group of 5th graders who are excited about writing pen pal letters, to a kindergartener who loves to learn language through play. Some of my students' excitement for learning is contagious, and this fuels me throughout each day. The amount of variety I see also goes for their home lives: some of the students live in shelters, or come from broken homes. Both of these factors encourage me to come to work every day and improve my students' lives in as many ways as possible.
My Project
This year in school, students will have to face challenges like they have never experienced before. They will be required to wear masks, separate from teachers and friends, and simultaneously continue to navigate in-person and remote learning.
Besides having difficulty understanding why we have these restrictions now, many students will have trauma from what they've experienced in the past 6 months.
My students will require additional support understanding their emotions and regulating them. I am requesting read-aloud books related to COVID-19, understanding and regulating our emotions, and making good choices, in order to make the transition into this school year a little bit easier for them.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
