Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This past week we began our first nonfiction text unit of the year where students began exploring how nonfiction text is organized and structured. After the first few days of independent reading time, we noticed that students absolutely loved the few National Geographic nonfiction text that we had. Also, we noticed that we did not have nearly enough of a nonfiction text selection that was interesting to the students!

This project will help bring vibrant and new nonfiction text to our 4th grade classroom.

Having a variety of genres to select from is so important for students' literacy growth and this project will help to supplement our classroom library and provide the genre that we need!
