My Students

Nonfiction books make history come to life. Help us travel through time.

My class is made up of 34 children.

They attend a Title I school in Queens. Our children receive free breakfast and lunch. We have over 40 languages spoken in my school and many children are English Language Learners. My class is eager to learn and experience new things.

My Project

We need to build our nonfiction library because of the increasing need and focus for students to read nonfiction books in reading workshop. Reading nonfiction books helps students to explore history and science. Students are able to practice their reading skills such as finding the main idea and details by reading content area books.

We will become lifelong learners through reading nonfiction books.

These books will help us to do research and write reports as well as develop interests in new topics. Please help us build our nonfiction library.
