My Project

Many of my students struggle when it comes to reading nonfiction texts. As high school students, many of them are already working after school and on the weekends. My students need to prepare for their lives as members of society outside the walls of our school building.

The New York Times Upfront magazines will help my students build the confidence they need to read and comprehend nonfiction articles not only in the classroom, but in their adult lives.

My goal is for my students to succeed during their time in my classroom, but also as an adult in their lives in college or the workforce. Reading and comprehending nonfiction is an integral part of becoming a lifelong learner and active member of society.
