My Students

Make the world around us come to life. Help us learn about many different topics by reading nonfiction books.

My fourth grade class has 32 students.

My school is located in Queens, New York and is a Title I school. All of our students get free breakfast and lunch. Many of my students are ESL students and English is not their first language. My class is eager to learn new things.

My Project

My students need Levels U, T, S, and R non fiction books sets(one each)in the 4th and 5th grade level. We need leveled non fiction books to help increase our selection of books in our nonfiction library. As part of our reading program we read books at our independent reading level in order to help improve our reading skills. To encourage reading nonfiction I would like to add some new high interest leveled books to our classroom library. This will allow each child to have more than one book at a time and a larger selection when selecting books. It is so important for children to have choices when deciding what to read.

With these new books my class can learn about many new topics and practice their non fiction reading skills.

This will help them in social studies and science as well. By learning about the world around them it will help them feel like they have had new experiences and develop their reading skills.
