Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My first grade classroom is comprised of energetic, eager, and hardworking readers ready to discover new books about their favorite nonfiction topics!

My first grade students have thrived as learners during interactive read alouds, and are excited to apply their knowledge and take on an active role in their learning during reading lab!

My students are in need of a high volume of non fiction mentor texts to learn from and read in order to be successful mastering our essential literacy standards. We will use books like National Geographic Readers: Llamas and National Geographic Readers: Giraffes to master identifying the main topic of a text as well as identifying text features like heading and glossaries!
