Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Being an adolescent can be a challenging and turbulent time. They are faced with challenging classes, high expectations, social media scrutiny, increase in stress, relationship problems, anxiety, and depression. This is why I would like to begin a group called No Stress Wednesdays, where students will gain the knowledge and support they need to develop healthy coping skills. These skills are intended to teach students to manage anxiety and stress, as well as, how to foster better relationships with their peers and staff. Your donation will help fund materials that will be used during each session. Each week students will learn different coping skills. The expected outcome for the group is to improve emotional regulation and coping skills among the participants, enhance social relationships and empathy among group members, reduce anxiety and depression, and improve academic performance. This will help promote a better quality of life and gain the skills necessary to apply outside of the classroom.
