No Notebook Can Be Interactive Without Proper Supplies

My students need scissors, post-it notes, composition notebooks, blue copy paper, pink copy paper, yellow copy paper, and glue sticks to create their interactive notebooks.

My Students

My school is from a very diverse area, which means so are my students. Some of my students haven't had very much growing up, and I try to expose them to fun new ways to learn that they haven't experienced before. The classroom diversity also challenges myself as the teacher to be inventive in the way I teach. By doing more hands-on mathematics activities, I can reach more of my students and encourage them to learn

My students are very special to me, so I want to equip them with good study skills and a quick resource for basic Algebra skills they have learned.

The materials from this project will help the 9th graders I teach learn note taking and study skills through what is called an Interactive Notebook. Many students I see have not had the guidance to know how to take notes or study, so my goal is to help them develop these skills.

My school is steeped in tradition and community pride. Through classroom activities, my students are learning to be respectful, hardworking, and carry on the success known from our school.

My Project

I have asked for composition notebooks, pens, copy paper, scissors, and other materials to provide hands-on notes to my classes. The composition notebooks will be used for students to create Interactive Notebooks. The color copy paper and glue is to create and attach "foldables" into their notebooks. Currently, I do not have enough glue sticks or scissors for all of my students to have one during our lesson, so these are much needed items. Post it notes, pens, and scissors will also help my students keep up with information and add new ideas to their notebooks.

With the materials from this project, my classes will create Interactive Notebooks, which gives students a more concrete and condensed way to study math.

They also offer a quick reference when a student can not remember a concept.
