Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school has 3 volleyball teams: a varsity team, JV team, and a developmental squad. All students who try out are placed on one of the teams giving many students their first opportunity to play on a team. We have had players from all levels discover a love of the game during their time on our teams that they continue their player development in high school or as part of a club team. It is our greatest pleasure to introduce our students to this wonderful game and team sports in general.

Your donation would help us make our games and practices safer and more efficient.

Since our school lacks an indoor gym, we play and practice on open outdoor courts. As a winter sport at the middle school level, this leads to some issues. The courts are so close to each other that balls from one court often land in other courts, requiring us to pause for safety reasons. The grass fields around our courts often become muddy in the winter and we have balls landing in the mud and have to have players carefully retrieve the muddy balls.

With your generous donation, we can avoid some of the potential safety issues and make sure our games and practices run much more smoothly. Your donation will go towards purchasing ball stop netting which will be placed between courts during games to prevent balls from exiting the court and landing in another court or the mud.
