My Project

Our third-grade students come from a diverse, low-income community, with 80% qualifying for free or reduced lunch, and 30% identified as exceptional children. Many of these students are also English language learners, with 25% of the student population needing additional language support. The financial challenges faced by these families often extend to basic necessities, including personal hygiene products. Without access to proper hygiene supplies, students may feel self-conscious or distracted in the classroom, impacting their confidence and focus. The lack of basic hygiene items also affects their overall well-being, making it crucial to provide support.

This grant will enable us to provide essential hygiene products, such as soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, and sanitary items, to ensure that all third-grade students can start their day with dignity and comfort.

By providing these basic needs, we can create a healthier, more positive school environment, allowing students to fully participate in their learning without the worry of their personal hygiene. Supporting our military-connected families and other low-income households in this way fosters inclusivity and enhances the students’ ability to succeed academically and socially.
