This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Did someone say snack time?

I work in the South Bronx with mostly shelter and low-income families.

Most of my students are in Kindergarten and have a disability. My students need a lot of social and emotional support. These are students with special needs that can benefit from snack breaks to improve their development and concentration. Snack time meets their developmental needs for learning.

It's hard to teach hungry children!

Many of them don't eat breakfast in the morning so a snack is essential. It breaks my heart to see that most of my students can’t afford to bring snacks every day. At my school, teachers and students are committed to learning despite the many challenges we face due to funding and other inequalities in our system.

I love that my students are communicative and enthusiastic learners. What makes them special is that they have a lot of energy and are always looking for a fun way to learn.

Some of my students have autism and ADHD. Therefore, snacks readily available in the classroom will allow my students to have a snack not only at snack, but when they need it.

My Project

IT’S RAINING GOLDFISH!

By donating to my project, you will not only help to improve and increase students attention, development and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

My mission with this project is to provide my students with snack items that will help them to stay focused and on track. We have a built in snack time and many students are left out.

I have been able to provide some relief before and I am hoping to do so again with your help.
