My Students

I teach at a unique urban school. My students come from a variety of backgrounds. I teach students kindergarten through fifth grade, and many of them have individual needs that do not allow them to attend a traditional school on a daily basis.

Many of my students have emotional and social issues, frequent medical treatments, safety concerns, difficulty in a traditional school setting and/or are homeless.

My students each face their own challenges every day outside of school. Some are grade levels behind and others are grade levels ahead.

My Project

With these cleaning, disinfecting, and safety supplies, I will be able to provide a safer space for my students when they are able to return to in-class learning on our school campus. These supplies will limit the absences that could occur because of Covid-19 and other illnesses by making face-to-face learning safer. These supplies will also help to put fears at ease for both parents and students as they can be assured that their learning environment is as safe as can be. This will allow for more focus on learning.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends the frequent washing of hands using soap and water for 20 seconds or the use of alcohol based hand-sanitizer when soap and water is unavailable to prevent the transmission of Covid -19 and other flus and illnesses.
