Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a teacher at P.S. 335 located in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. I have taught 3-5 grade in the past 6 years. This year, I am teaching Math/Science in a cluster position. Our school has not have a science program in ten years and we have little to no resources and materials. I am working with grades K and 6. I need microscopes. I could not believe that the school had not one microscope! Students need practice in using a microscope to view specimens in prepared slides as well as conduct experiments. I am asking for 5 compound microscopes which are scaled to size for elementary students that are simple to use and designed to give years of service. My students will learn science through inquiry and exploration. I want them to enjoy science and I know having microscopes will aid their explorations.
