This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My school is a Title I school. Most of my students come from lower socioeconomic homes. They are very bright and sweet and love to learn. My students are also language delayed. Most of them are learning disabled and are in Special Education classes within the community public school. Their learning comes with difficulty due to their speech delays and learning disabilities, but they fight on and work hard!
I love to find new ways to teach them the skills they are lacking.
We use all five senses to learn different skills. I love seeing their faces light up when they understand and grasp new concepts. Teaching kids with disabilities requires a lot of passion and love. Watching my students' eyes light up when they understand concepts is the most rewarding feeling. Writing is always challenge for my darlings. Lets help them along.
My Project
Dear Friends,
Help me protect my darling students from COVID!
With the lack of PPE in schools we are scrambling to get our classrooms together in a way to keep our rooms safe. My room is rather small but I need my students to be comfortable. They need to see my face and I need to see their faces to teach them their sounds and words. It would be rather impossible to do so without the desk guards. How does one teach mouth movements when we cannot see each faces through the mask?
