My Students

My students are hard-working and inspired to make their ambitions come true. Like many school districts, we lack funds to be able to provide students with the materials they need to be successful in the 21st century. Third graders get excited when they see their success with different materials, resources and manipulatives. To see their faces light up as they are figuring out new concepts and life is exciting.

Teachers at my school are motivated by the success of all students both academically and in preparing them for life.

Our school currently serves K-5 students with rigorous academics. I am a part of a teacher culture that is driven to inspire the minds of young people.

These materials will allow my students to meet their fullest potential.

My Project

Third graders are expected to become fluent and accurate with multiplication and division facts within 100 by the end of the school year. They need practice, practice, and more practice to build that fluency and accuracy. However, many students are not as motivated to learn and the ones who are love those incentives. This is why my classroom will become "Ninjas" of basic facts using a program called "Kickin it Math." The folders will be used to store the students fact practice they will use each day. Card Stock is important to create the fact cards students will use over and over again. The file box will allow easy access for the students to have what they need to practice their facts. Timers are an opportunity for students to self check on their fluency.

It is essential for students to become accurate and fluent in multiplication and division.

So why not provide them with the tools to be successful in doing so. "Kickin it Math" provides a researched based, motivating system to help ensure students are progressing with their facts.

These items that you will be providing my students will create an organized and independent math environment for students to excel at their facts and motivated to receive the next Ninja Belt.
