My Students

My first-grade students are excited learners that are full of questions. At this lower elementary level, there are so many new experiences to be had and it is important to keep my students engaged and eager to learn more.

Inspiring my students with engaging resources encourages them to become lifelong learners.

Our school is a founding school of the Great Kindness Challenge. We focus not only on high expectations academically, but also emphasize being good citizens. Our school has a strong sense of community where we all work together and enjoy sharing our ideas and experiences with each other.

My Project

Ozobot will encourage my students to dive deeper into the next level of robotics. These little programmable robots respond to hand-drawn maps and color codes. Students will be able to use markers to communicate with the Ozobot which will help them refine their fine motor skills and increase their attention to detail.

Ozobot will provide my students with countless hands on activities that encourage problem solving, creativity, and collaboration to develop their 21st century skills.

Not only will students be further developing their coding skills, they will also be developing their map reading skills. One of our standards in first grade is understanding and creating maps. Ozobot will allow students to create a map for their robot and see it come to life. By providing my students with 5 Ozobots, students will work together in small groups, share ideas, and problem solve together!
