My Students

A typical day in my classroom begins with Current Events and continues with Math Problem Solving. I would like my students to be self-reliant and organized in they work. My favorite quote "Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning."

My students are curious and voracious readers.

They love social studies and when we do Current Events they love to read the NY Times so much that they run out of time finding an article for themselves and their assignment. My school is diverse and easy-going. I love my school.

My Project

I am hoping that I can send the students out on assignment with the Ipad taking pictures with it (we currently have no digital camera for our newspaper), record interviews and write their notes with it so that it will be easier for them to transfer their notes to a computer.

I believe that this donation with make a big difference in my classroom.

My students embrace technology and this would help them by being able to use that technology to help them when they go out on a "news" assignment. Also, by seeing the donations from donor's choose it will also help them understand the kindness of others willing to help our classroom and hopefully they will remember that when they are older and will do the same thing for a classroom in need.
