FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. L.'s classroom raised $270
This project is fully funded
My Project
My students are immigrant children from impoverished homes. There are many special education students with IEPs that struggle with school work. Their parents struggle to make ends meet and do not have access to news in English. They often watch Spanish or Russian or Urdu TV shows. The students have been struggling with achieving passing scores on the state ELA exam. Most are reading at least two grades below grade level. The students' parents are involved in their education but are limited in their knowledge of English and don't have the extra funds to supplement their children's education. The current pandemic has made the students' progress even more difficult to achieve since they are learning remotely and do not have access to varied books and genres other than resources online.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
