Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at the tip of Texas, bordering Mexico, where my students speak Spanglish (English Language Learners). They face many challenges such as dyslexia, special needs, and are socioeconomically disadvantaged, but that doesn't stop them from dreaming big. Nevertheless, my students are creative, thoughtful, and full of excitement!

When students put themselves into green scree projects-whether it's to take on the role of a character in a book, a journalist, and investigator or an explorer- their bodies and emotions are actively participating in the learning process, which deepens the learning.

This mind-body connection is at the heart of the embodied learning approach, in which the brain is activated by physical movement. When using a green screen, it projects incorporate Reading, Writing, Drama, Music as well as Social Studies and Science.

This Donors Choose project for the green screen will ensure yet another level of success for my second grade class.

My Project

Our school is going 1-to-1 with iPads as well as Face to Face next school year and we would really like to get more creative with our projects by exploring the digital world. What this means is the need for some green screen materials and tools to assist in the recording.

Imagine making your knowledge come to life with the ability to transform yourself into the desert or even in space, the green screen gives students the ability to place themselves anywhere!

The light will help this system out because we could set it up anywhere that has a plug. Help us enter into the era of green screen fun with your donation.
