Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The majority of novels included in this project are Newbery Award-winning books that would vastly enrich our classroom library. It has been my honor to see students throughout the years continue to discover new books in their own classroom. I love hearing my students ask me for recommendations and seeing them pick up a new book that instantly hooks them. The novels I've included in this project are award-winning stories that are universal and teach children important lessons about life.

Novels help students explore different worlds and learn new things about the way others live, which helps build empathy for others.

Unfortunately, our school has been without a librarian for the last two academic years, which means that our library has been unused for a majority of that time. Students haven't been able to check out books to read at home, but with your generous support they can have a wider selection in our classroom library.
