I am a new art teacher, teaching a program called the Blueprints for the Arts. I teach Pre-K through 5th Grade, Special Education, Learning Disabled, General Education and CTT Classes, in a Title One ((high-need community).
My students are getting ready to do self portraits of themselves. I want to take their picture and place it on their desk as a prop for them to view as they sketch. My students are visual learners, and need a little support with focusing, and I believe this will help them. We will also be making our own art journals, and it would be really helpful to include some special moment pictures. We wanted to do something nice for the elderly people, to give back to our community, so we decided we would make them some cards. We are going to a nursing home in our area to hand deliver them. I thought it would be nice to capture this visit with photos. Having a camera and printer in the art room would be a tremendous help.
If we had this camera and printer, my students would be able to digitally record so many things we've done or plan on doing. All of our experiences outside in the yard would be captured to be put in our journals. (Sometimes we sit outside and draw what we see. When we go back to our classroom, we will be able to have a picture of the scene as a visual resource.)
You will make it possible for my art students to capture their special moments, and display them in their journals. It will be something for them to save and keep for a lifetime. Your help makes such a difference in our classrooms and words can not express our gratitude. You will see it in our photos. Thank you so much!
