Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Emergent bilinguals are incredible. They come to school eager to learn and continuously impress me with their willingness to try new things. They are all newcomers and have lived in the United States for less than a year. Along with the typical high school worries, they express fears, loneliness and culture shock when they arrive in our school. Every year, I do my best to create an environment where they feel welcome, confident and comfortable. (and where they feel like they can practice their English skills)

I plan on using the items here to improve our classroom, revamp our storage and update items that need some extra love since I’ve been teaching this particular program for 7 years.

Anything helps! It would also be nice to not have to share headphones with the entire school…
