This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Every child looks forward to getting new school supplies for the new school year, but what about those who can’t afford it?
My students are very excited to begin third grade but most arrive empty handed.
This project helps provide every student with the important supplies they are missing.
Every day we use whiteboards to work out math problems and create grammatically correct sentences. When combined with magnetic letters, students can practice spelling and learn new vocabulary too. Our whiteboards get so much daily use, new materials are necessary every year.
Pencil cases are essential to keeping third grade desks neat and organized. These colorful pouches will provide the extra motivation needed to keep a neat and tidy space.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
